We are holding a nine night celebration of the life of Ron (Randolph) Rosedam on Friday 21st July 2023 4.30pm - 10.30pm
We are welcoming all those who knew him, family and friends to join us. Please come in colour.
We ask that you come to share memories and wear colour - anyone who knows Ron knows how much he liked a colourful shirt on any occasion.
Traditionally in Jamaica, when a person passes, family and friends visit the close family for 9 consecutive nights, bringing small gifts like rum, sugar and so on. People remember the person whilst playing games and supporting the family. Some older generations would hold prayers and sing hymns. In more modern times and popular with the diaspora, people hold a celebratory event a week or two before the funeral, where people remember the person, play music, games and celebrate their life. Ron enjoyed going to these celebrations when they were held for people in the community and would be delighted to know he is also being remembered in this way.
(other Caribbean countries have different ways of conducting nine nights celebrations)
